Nvidia announces good and not so good news for GeForce Now. The cloud gaming service is improving its offerings without changing prices… but there will soon be a monthly usage limit.
Nvidia made some changes to GeForce Nowits streaming game service. The “Priority” formula becomes “Performance” and goes to 1440p, a notch above the 1080p it offered until now. The offer also supports ultra wide resolutions, and you will no longer have to modify the graphics settings of your games during each streaming session: they will be saved once and for all.
Monthly limit for GeForce Now
All current Prioritaire subscribers now benefit from these new features. The Ultimate plan doesn’t change anything: it connects players to servers equipped with the GeForce RTX 4080 to obtain 4K resolution and up to 120 frames per second (or 1080p at 240 FPS).
The prices do not change for these two subscriptions: €10.99 per month or €54.99 (six months) for the Performance offer; €21.99 per month or €109 (six months) for the Ultimate plan. The free offer remains free of course, with the same services as before: it displays advertising, the queues are longer and the duration of the sessions is limited to one hour of play.
From January 1, 2025, Performance and Ultimate subscribers will have to deal with a limit of 100 GB per month. An envelope ” confortable », assures Nvidia: only 6% of players exceed this threshold. They will be able to purchase additional 15 GB boosters at $2.99 (Performance) or $5.99 (Ultimate). In addition, the service will allocate up to 15 GB of unused data to the following month.
For Nvidia, this is a compromise to avoid increasing prices. Current GeForce Now subscribers – and all those who subscribe until December 31 – will not experience this threshold until January 1, 2026.
