At a time when artificial intelligence is increasingly present in our lives, Microsoft today announced the launch of its Xbox Virtual Agent, dedicated to customer support.
Xbox Support chatbot launched
Designed to help gamers resolve issues with Xbox consoles, services and games “more efficiently”, the virtual assistant is currently rolling out to select members of the Xbox Insider program in the United States.
Concretely, you have access to a dialog window with the assistant, to whom you can ask all your questions, as illustrated below. Microsoft indicates that its AI can thus answer users' questions based on information from the support.xbox.com site.
The virtual support agent can quickly access support.xbox.com information to answer questions about Xbox console and game support issues. Xbox Insiders located in the United States and whose preferred language is English can start testing the Virtual Support Agent today by visiting support.xbox.com while signed in to an account registered in the part of the Xbox Insider program.
Note that users can personalize their experience by choosing between two virtual agents available during the test period. The company also encourages players to give their opinion on its virtual assistant, and indicates that the feedback will be used to improve it.
We appreciate feedback from Xbox Insiders for this preview experience and any feedback received will be used to improve Virtual Support Agent. When interacting with the Virtual Support Agent, you can provide feedback by clicking the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” button on each response or directly by clicking the “Give Feedback” button at the bottom of the page.
Remember that the Xbox virtual assistant is currently reserved for the American market and is therefore not available in France. We nevertheless imagine that if the test phase bears fruit, it will be deployed to other territories in the months to come.
