While most animated films are aimed at adults, the Festival Cinéma Jeune Audience, the 10th edition of which takes place from Wednesday to Sunday in several independent cinemas in Lausanne and Pully, offers several selections of short films accessible to all. -children with the aim of introducing them to cinematographic culture. And therefore offering them the possibility of a first collective experience in a room, far from the small screens that parents sometimes use as comfort blankets…

On the program of the event, around fifty short and feature films from 22 countries, for age recommendations of up to 16 years. Among the many films screened as Swiss premieres, the documentary Maydegolby Sarvnaz Alambeigi, follows in the footsteps of an Afghan teenager who took refuge in Iran… where she dreams of becoming a Thai boxing champion! In Girls Will Be Girlsawarded at Sundance, Indian filmmaker Shuchti Talati is interested in the female condition through the prism of a mother-daughter relationship. With Jacquot of screened at the Swiss Cinematheque, the festival also offers a classic: directed in 1991 by Agnès Varda, the film recounts the childhood and cinema dreams of her companion, Jacques Demy.
