Attention Dark Souls fans! Even if Halloween is over, that doesn't mean that you can't spend your evenings dismembering your enemies with complete impunity (and above all without burning a hole in your wallet) thanks to this Souls-like available for PS subscribers More.

A Souls-like like no other

Good news for Souls-like fans! A game of this genre has joined the catalog of PlayStation Plus Extrabut he's not quite like the others. Unlike a good number of games at a similar level of difficulty, this title does not offer a Dark Fantasy setting with medieval accents, but a science fiction universe which will undoubtedly satisfy fans of Cyberpunk 2077 et Dead Space. Note 16/20 by us, The Surge 2 invites you to the heart of the city of Jericho, now contaminated by the virus introduced by its predecessor, The Surgealso available on PS Plus.

Developed by Deck 13 Interactiveboth games are available to subscribers PS Plus Premium and Extrawhich should allow you to fill around fifty hours with punishing combat and exploration within a rather dark SF universe. Even though the first game had its charm, the developers learned from their mistakes by improving many aspects of its sequel. On the program: battles as fluid as they are bloody, players having the possibility of targeting the members of their enemies to remove them one by one…

Notable technical improvements

Unlike its predecessor, The Surge 2 allows you to create your character from scratch, and make him evolve in a dystopian setting where the virus which spread within the multinational CREO in one of the possible endings of the first part has spread inside the town of Jerichoendangering the survival of its inhabitants. Even if the story of the game is far from what we can find in Elden Ringthe scenario still offers some interesting sequences, and the environmental storytelling says a lot about what to expect in Jericho.

Much better than The Surge on a technical level, including a reworked camera which makes fighting against large opponents a little less frustrating, and better space design which will have fewer unpleasant surprises in store for you, like the (too) well-hidden enemies of the first opus. Unfortunately, such improvements also result in reduced difficultysince you will be able to concentrate on the monsters in front of you without worrying about the small flaws that marred the gameplay of the previous game. But that doesn't prevent The Surge 2 to offer a good twenty hours of content, and more blood!
