Microsoft Copilot is almost over, here is the new name of Microsoft’s future AI assistant. The latter should benefit from better integration in order to make life easier for users.
Microsoft is preparing to launch a new artificial intelligence assistant called Windows Intelligence. Recent Windows 11 code updates hint at this change, indicating that Microsoft will bring all of its AI features under one brand. AI would thus become a central element of the Windows experience.
Microsoft to introduce “Windows Intelligence” to unify AI in Windows 11
Today, Microsoft’s main AI feature is Copilot, a digital assistant that helps users complete tasks, makes intelligent suggestions, and gives them answers.
But recent code updates suggest that Copilot and other AI tools could soon become part of Windows Intelligence. By bringing its AI tools together, Microsoft hopes that AI will become a bigger part of how users interact with applications and the operating system itself.
The name “Windows Intelligence” is similar to “Apple Intelligence,” the name Apple uses for its own AI features like Siri. This name, also highly sought after by Microsoft engineers who had to spend weeks, even months, there, aims to create an environment with more AI in Windows.
Microsoft has no plans to remove Copilot with this rebranding. Copilot recently received updates, including a new map-based interface and personalized recommendations. Other tools like Click to Do and Recall, which make background tasks easier, will also continue to improve under Windows Intelligence.
The question now is how Windows Intelligence will compete with Apple and other tech giants in the AI space. This development could change the way we use computers, making Windows a more useful and adaptable platform.
