LThe video game industry is doing badly. Since 2022, more than 31,000 people have lost their jobs in a sector which has around 330,000 workers. Around the world, the crisis seems to never end. Wallonia is no exception to the rule, even if the number of professionals in the sector has been increasing constantly for years and now numbers close to 300 people.
Like everywhere else, finances are not in good shape. From 12 million euros in 2021 then 2022, the industry’s turnover in the region increased to 8.9 million in 2023. Last year, Wallonia even lost a studio while it There are only around thirty of them. However, at 9e edition of the “Meet&Build”, the faces are jovial. It’s sure, we’re happy to see each other again.
It was at Quai 10, in Charleroi, that this giant meeting of the various players in the Walloon industry took place in the presence of some foreign delegations, notably Brazilian, Croatian and Filipino.
