The Chapitou Refuge in Baie-Comeau has been accumulating coats, transport cages, accessories, toys and more for pets for years. Today he decided to give back to the community.
The shelter team is organizing a first-ever garage sale exclusively for pet items.
Guylaine Fallu, member of the board of directors, explains that clients are used to taking their unused accessories to the shelter.
“There are brand new items,” she says. Sometimes these are items that have never been used, sometimes items that people have to get rid of after the loss of an animal.
While all of this is stored in bins and stacked in a room at the back of the shelter, the circular economy seems a great option.
On November 9, the Refuge Chapitou team will be set up at Pavillon Mance to offer all these items, which have been washed and disinfected, at a low price.
It should also be noted that it is not just for cats and dogs. Owners of birds, rabbits and even hamsters will find what they are looking for here.
The money raised by this garage sale will be used entirely for veterinary expenses for the animals at the shelter.
