Let's start with multi-lane roads, which can be stressful for the driver in certain situations. Sometimes we are not sure if we are in the right lane to continue our journey, which forces us to fall back at the last moment to take the right path. Google Maps wants to prevent us from doing this by clearly displaying on the navigation map which lane you should be in, indicated by a blue line on the application.

Still on the safety aspect, the app will be more precise when warning drivers in the event of difficult weather conditions. It will allow us to see and report weather disturbances on our route: flooded, unplowed and low visibility roads, in particular.

Google Maps is also enriched with so-called arrival guidance features. Nearby parking lots are highlighted, and it becomes possible to save your parking space so as not to forget your location. When we get out of the vehicle, a walking route guides us to the parking lot exit, with Street View or augmented reality pedestrian navigation if necessary.
