Nintendo fans will now be able to take the iconic melodies of their favorite games anywhere. The famous Japanese company is taking a step towards Music streaming, like Spotify, by launching a mobile app on the App Store and Google Play stores specially dedicated to listening to its music. Named Nintendo Music, it provides access to songs from its video games, including “Super Mario”, “The Legend of Zelda” and “Animal Crossing”, to name just a few examples. Free to download, the app requires a Nintendo account and a subscription to the paid Nintendo Switch Online service to access its content.
Featuring a simple interface that resembles YouTube Music, Nintendo Music offers different playlists and recommendations. Options include downloading songs for offline listening, as well as creating custom playlists. Nintendo Music also includes a track extension function allowing you to extend the listening time of a song for 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The latter has been specially designed for those who enjoy studying or working in music and are looking for a continuous sound environment.
