The messaging application WhatsApp is working on a new feature for channels. Thanks to it, these will become more interesting for users.
Unless it doesn’t serve you, you know that the WhatsApp instant messaging continues to evolve. Putting aside the multiple graphic redesigns that the application has undergone over the years, not a month, or even a week, goes by without a new feature being announced on the platform. The good thing is that they are always useful, each in its own category. We think, for example, of automatic blocking of spam, or of dark mode adapted to OLED and AMOLED screens.
Sometimes, it’s completely another way of using the app that arrives. The latest arrived in September 2023: the Channels tab. As a reminder, channels are pages to which you can subscribe. Netflix has one for example, but also certain personalities. You find news there, knowing that it is only possible to react to them, not to respond to them. But they have a defect that WhatsApp finally wants to correct.
This new WhatsApp feature will make channels much more interesting
If you are subscribed to a channel that publishes several messages per day and you want to find one in particular, there is only one solution: scroll until you find the one that interests you. Indeed, there is no search function. Fortunately, this will soon be history. WhatsApp is working on integrating a search system into channels. It will take place on these via the accessible menu with the 3 vertical points, as well as on their management page.

Nothing complicated in its operation. Imagine you’re looking for the latest Netflix post about the Stranger Things series. Simply type their name and validate to only see the messages that talk about it. Note that the option is under development. This means that it is not yet in the beta testing phase, and therefore far from ready for global deployment. We’ll have to wait.
