Our Dell Inspiron 14 Plus Qualcomm version houses a Snapdragon X Plus SoC, called X1P-64-100. This version incorporates a 10-core Oryon CPU that can run at up to 3.4 GHz, without the possibility of using a frequency boost, unlike high-end Snapdragon X Elite counterparts. It is associated with an Adreno GPU capable of reaching 3.8 TFLOPS and a Hexagon NPU which claims 45 TOPS.
At the end of our battery of tests, which combines synthetic benchmarks and execution of demanding tasks in various software (Blender, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, HandBrake, etc.), our laptop PC obtains an index of 51, which is rather good. score. It is thus placed above the Acer Swift A14 Ai which has the same processor, and logically a little below the machines equipped with Snapdragon X Elite. It also beats the Dell XPS 13 Intel equipped with a Core Ultra 7 155H.
In fact, the machine will be very comfortable carrying out office tasks and even light creation. Please note: many applications do not yet have native mode for ARM chips. This is for example the case for most Adobe tools, with the exception of Photoshop and Lightroom, which therefore go through an emulation layer on PC Arm, to the detriment of their performance.
The Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 is clearly not a gaming machine, but its GPU is more than sufficient to indulge in titles that do not require much graphics power. As an example, Rocket League shoots at over 70 frames per second (fps) in native definition (2560 x 1600 pixels), all details to the fullest. On a more demanding game, like Shardow Of The Tomb Raiderit is obviously more complicated. We only reach 19 fps on a Very High graphics setting at 1920 x 1200 pixels.
Also beware of compatibility issues that persist with certain software. Games from Riot Games (League Of Legends, Valuing…) are not working at the moment, for example.
We finish with the speed measurements of the integrated SSD. Good news, it holds up perfectly with a speed rated at more than 6.1 GB/s reading and 4.7 GB/s writing.
