The Petits Frères des Pauvres de Beaune team is organizing its first solidarity concert which will be held on Sunday June 16 at 4 p.m. at the Challanges village hall, located at 888 Rue de Combertault in Beaune-Challanges. Under the direction of the Music’ JMB orchestra, this event promises a musical afternoon full of solidarity and generosity. The Music’JMB group composed of 10 musicians (accordions, keyboards and baritone saxophone) led by Jean-Marc Bêche, accordion and piano teacher, will offer an eclectic repertoire ranging from the first movement of a flute concerto by Romberg to a medley of French songs and film scores.
Since its creation in 2022, the local branch of Petits Frères des Pauvres has been resolutely committed to the fight against the isolation of elderly people in the region. Made up of a team of six dedicated volunteers, this initiative represents one more step towards an attentive and supportive society.
The Little Brothers of the Poor, a national institution founded in 1946 by Armand Marquiset, have been recognized for decades for their dedication to the most deprived elderly people. Guided by values such as the dignity of each individual and fraternity, this national organization is present through 12 regional Fraternities, including that of the Burgundy region. The latter, established in Dijon since 1997, has nearly 75 volunteers and offers various activities to strengthen social bonds and offer moral support to elderly people.
The Beaune branch, faithful to the mission of the Petits Frères des Pauvres, continues with determination its commitment to the elderly of the region. A small group of dedicated volunteers work passionately to combat social exclusion and provide some comfort to those who need it most.
This solidarity concert is an opportunity for the community of Beaune and its surrounding areas to come together and show their support for isolated elderly people. Participation in this event is free, and the funds collected will be entirely donated to the Petits Frères des Pauvres to support their actions in favor of disadvantaged elderly people.
