Ente is no longer just an open Source photo gallery. The company is launching version 3.0 of its open Source authentication application (2FA) for mobile, web and the 3 main operating systems on the market.

Ente’s Auth(enticator) application reached a major milestone with the release of version 3.0 last weekend. Auth started as a 2FA app that provided end-to-end encrypted backups on mobile. The 3rd iteration of Auth comes with some major improvements.

The publisher now offers stable applications for Linux, Windows and macOSmaking Auth the de facto only open Source, cross-platform authentication application.

You can now pin your favorite codes to the top of the interface, so that they are always at hand. You can also organize them with labels (“Work”, “Personal”), to easily find what you are looking for. In terms of security, all this information will be end-to-end encrypted. Finally, you can finally import your credentials from other applications, like Bitwarden (which has also just created its own double authentication application) or Authy.

The application is therefore open Source, under the AGPL 3 license. Its development is based on Github.
