It is only due to be presented on June 2 at Computex in Taiwan, but the next Asus console is already revealing all its secrets.
ROG Ally’s first anniversary will be celebrated with a new member of the family. Asus itself couldn’t resist telling us the good news a few weeks ago, but the leaks took care of the rest. Here is the technical sheet of the future ROG Ally X.

Battery capacity doubled
This was the essential promise from Asus when approaching the ROG Ally X. Autonomy will indeed take a leap forward. According to the specialized site VideoCardz, which says it has obtained the technical sheet of the console, the battery would increase from a capacity of 40 Wh to 80 Wh. A capacity simply doubled, which should resolve the significant autonomy problems noted by the press and customers of this portable console.
Logical consequence of this change: the ROG Ally X would gain weight. VideoCardz gives the figure of 678 grams, which therefore means a gain of 70 grams compared to the model currently on the market. A little heavier than a Steam Deck OLED therefore, but still some 200 grams less than the Legio GO juggernaut from Lenovo.
Small design changes have also been made by the Taiwanese brand, starting with a reworked fan, supposed to improve air flow by 10% while reducing noise pollution. Also, a new directional cross (D-Pad) would be on the program and announced more precisely.
An inevitably higher price
The rest of the technical sheet of the Asus console should remain unchanged, apart from a RAM which goes from 16 GB to 24 GB. No need to expect increased performance or a better screen; autonomy is the main axis of change in this “X” version of the ROG Ally.
Autonomy… and the price. Indeed, even if we will only really be sure when the curtain rises on June 2, rumors speak of a price tag of $799, i.e. a price increase of $100 compared to the Z1 Extreme model marketed last year.
In France, we can therefore expect a console sold for around €900.
