Launch this summer of a call for projects to send cancer patients their personalized care program in My health space

The DNS, the ANS and the INCa have set themselves the objective of providing all cancer patients with their personalized care program via My health space.

Today, nearly 4 million people are living with or after a cancer diagnosis. Each year, more than 430,000 new cases are diagnosed.
Cancer patients have a very organized care pathway, the main stages of which result in the production of documents recorded in the oncology communicating file (DCC). The DCC is a regional tool co-managed by the specific regional cancer systems (DSRC) and the Regional Support Groups for the Development of e-Health (GRADeS). Among the course documents integrated into the DCC, there is the Personalized Care Program (PPS) in oncology. The PPS provides a global vision of each patient’s therapeutic program, updated throughout the acute phase of the disease.

Give all patients their PPS is one of the objectives included in the ten-year strategy to combat cancer led by the National Cancer Institute (2021-2030). However, today, barely half of patients have access to their PPS.

In order to facilitate and develop access for cancer patients to their PPS, the Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity, the Digital Health Agency and the National Cancer Institute are launching a project aimed at develop the regional platforms that host the DCC. A simple principle has been retained: the PPS will now be sent automatically in My health space, in compliance with security, interoperability and ethics standards.

To this end, the Digital Health Agency will launch a call for projects this summer. This work is funded by the “Ségur digital” Program, the objective of which is to generalize the fluid and secure sharing of health data between professionals and with users. This objective fits in particular with axis 1, priority 1 “Using My health space on a daily basis to manage your health” of the digital health roadmap (2023-2027). The call for projects has funding of 3 million euros.

The specifications of the call for projects are the result of close collaboration between the Digital Health Delegation (DNS), the National Cancer Institute (INCa) the Digital Health Agency (ANS), the regional health agencies (ARS), specific regional cancer systems (DSRC), GRADeS and publishers of regional DCC platform solutions. Collective work made it possible to structure the technical requirements and functional requirements (in agreement with those in the field).
