On the Microsoft product side, the October 14, 2025 is best known for being the deadline for support for the Windows 10 operating system, even if the Redmond group has planned paid security updates for the future.
October 14, 2025 is also a lesser known date of end of support for Office 2016 and Office 2019. Microsoft is making this reminder in the wake of the availability of Office 2024, after an alert to this effect which had already been launched in April.
The warning applies to applications in both Office 2016 and Office 2019 suites, as well as productivity servers (Exchange Server 2016, Exchange Server 2019, Skype for Business Server 2015, Skype for Business Server 2019).
We must not delay any longer…
” Continuing to use products after their support has ended can negatively impact the organization’s security, compliance, and productivity. As migrations can take time, we recommend that you begin your upgrade as soon as possible “, writes Microsoft, addressing businesses in particular.
The Redmond group is focusing primarily on Microsoft 365 subscriptions, while highlighting the recent publication of Office 2024 or previously Office LTSC 2024 (Long Term Servicing Channel) with a perpetual license for businesses. Please note that for Office LTSC 2021, the end of support will occur on October 13, 2026.
Without ongoing support, applications, servers, or devices are exposed to subsequently discovered security vulnerabilities that will not be patched. The impasse is also made on bug fixes and any technical support.
