During the ACIS Forum in Dakar, expert Issa Ngom shared his vision on the growing impact of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. According to him, AI brings a new dimension to the protection of computer systems, by automating crucial tasks to anticipate and respond to cyberattacks.

Artificial intelligence, a key asset for cybersecurity

“Artificial intelligence makes it possible to automate threat detection, identify potential security vulnerabilities and strengthen network protection,” explains Issa Ngom. “It also facilitates a faster response to attacks, thereby improving the resilience of security systems.”

The expert emphasizes that the constant evolution of cyber threats requires modernization of protection methods. With the integration of AI, security systems can not only anticipate attacks, but also respond to them proactively, making cybersecurity more responsive and efficient.

Current challenges for cybersecurity

Issa Ngom identifies two major challenges in the adoption of artificial intelligence in this area. Indeed, faced with ever more sophisticated cyber threats, companies must adapt their infrastructures and integrate AI-based technologies to remain protected.

Furthermore, it is essential to train cybersecurity professionals so that they can understand, adopt and fully exploit artificial intelligence-based tools and technologies.

Artificial intelligence represents a real turning point for the cybersecurity sector. By automating key processes and increasing the resilience of systems, it helps meet the challenges of modern cyber threats. However, infrastructure modernization and expert training remain priorities to ensure successful adoption of this technology.

As a reminder, the first edition of the ACIS Forum was organized around the theme “Cybersecurity and security of port, airport and offshore platform infrastructures. »
