Nintendo’s new Mario Party is here! And it offers a whole bunch of game modes as well as quite a few elements to unlock, such as boards, characters (Ninji and Pauline), music, reactions, stickers. How do I unlock all of these items? Follow this little guide!

Summary

  • How to unlock Pauline and Ninji?
  • How to unlock the game boards?
  • How to unlock boss mini-games?
  • How to unlock music, reactions, stickers?

When you first jump into Super Mario Party Jamboree, you’ll see that there are two characters you can’t play as. At least not right away. Pauline and Ninji are missing and seem at first glance not to be unlocked by collecting Achievements. In fact, you simply have to find them on the world map. Go to the main world map when you leave the Central Square. In front of you, you will see the Mario Party mode boards. Turn right towards the Mini-Games Marina. Look carefully to the left, you will see a small island with a palm tree… and Pauline is on it! Zoom in on it by pressing X, then validate the find. Pauline is now available. Then, go left to see Mario Party mode again, then go left again until you see Cadence Kitchen and Toad Factory in front of you. Look carefully at the small blocks on the right, in the background. Ninja is here. Zoom in, validate, and that’s it!

Unlike the two hidden characters, the trays are unlocked with elbow grease. Progression is made by unlocking Exploits, which are in fact successes/trophies which occur when the player achieves specific objectives (participate in 3 duels, obtain a score of 60 in Domino Whomp, etc.). Obtaining Achievements advances the player in what is similar to a Battle Pass and allows them to move up ranks. Rank 10 unlocks Western Country, rank 20 unlocks Rainbow Castle while rank 30 unlocks Bowser’s Secret Base. In other words, simply play Mario Party quietly to naturally unlock the boards, or force fate by observing the Exploits and unlock them quickly.

Yes, the bosses are indeed back in Super Mario Party Jamboree! There are 5 boss mini-games to unlock, and this is done by progressing in Quests and Help mode, the game’s 100% single-player mode.. All you have to do is find 30 mini stars for the boss of the visited map to arrive (Dranguille, Mega Butitine, Mega Torti Mole, etc.). There are 5 maps in total, so 5 bosses. If you want to advance faster, take Lakitu’s quiz as soon as you can. Advancing in this mode will also unlock decorative elements to customize the Central Square.

Progressing through the rewards/rank system unlocks items in stores as well as points. These points can be spent in shops on the Central Square in order to have music, stickers and reactions.
