Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been available for over a month now, and players are eagerly awaiting the ton of free content promised by Saber Interactive. To keep the community waiting until the deployment of Season 2 in the coming weeks, the studio has shared a video with gameplay. Good news, the first free update has just arrived.
Space Marine 2 – update 4 is available and it’s free!
Space Marine 2 update 4.0 is available to download now. Above all, it offers the new PVE Operation called Termination, which was announced recently. It offers players the opportunity to face an enormous Bio-Titan Tyranid Hierophant that we see for the very first time on the planet Kadaku.
This update also adds a new Mortal difficulty mode, the fifth difficulty out of five for Operations mode. And if you like the game’s settings, we have good news for you since the photo mode is also available in this single-player mode.
Finally, update 4.0 brings a number of significant changes in addition to general balancing and note that the arrival of the Neo-Volkite pistol is planned for later in Season 2 of the game.

In this new trailer, the studio has highlighted the Mortal Difficulty Mode and the PVE Termination Operation, where players will have to face the terrifying Bio-Titan Hierophant, one of the greatest threats of the Tyranid Hive. Season 2 will also mark the addition of the Neo-Volkite Pistol. Unfortunately, no release date has been communicated, but the deployment will take place before 2025.
Subsequently, as previously announced by Saber Interactive, free content will continue to roll out throughout the year with new PVE Operations, additional PVP modes and arenas, as well as a Horde mode, where the main objective will be to survive against waves of enemies. New cosmetics to customize Space Marines will also be there.
In parallel with the development of all this free content, the studio is working on the elements of the Season Pass, including the pack dedicated to Dark Angels which will soon be available. New weapon, armor and color scheme customization options to unlock in the Battle Barge, and inspired by the Unforgiven Successor Chapter, will also be available soon. While waiting for the other new features of Season 2, you can enjoy the title on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
