The final version of Android 15 could well be released today on Pixel smartphones

Android 15 should arrive on Pixel smartphones and tablets at the end of the day, according to a Google blunder. The open-source version has been available since last month.

Google was careful not to announce a launch date for the final version ofAndroid 15even if the open-source version (AOSP) has been available since September 4. However, delivery should not take long: a post published – clearly by mistake – on the German Pixel community forum announced the color, it would be for today, at 7 p.m. (Paris time)!

Pixels first, others later

As the site notes AndroidPolicethe first served will be users of Pixel smartphones and tablets (from Pixel 6). Those whose devices were purchased from an operator will have to wait a few more days or weeks, just like owners of smartphones from other brands. These big Android updates are made in such a way that they must first go through a review by the operator and/or manufacturer before being delivered to users.

It will be up to the manufacturers to reveal their update schedule. Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung and all the others are certainly in the starting blocks.

Android 15 is expected to ship on the heels of the October Feature Drop, which contains improvements and additional features for Pixel smartphones (the Pixel Watch should also be affected). Developers and tinkerers who have already installed the Android 15 QPR1 beta will not be able to install the stable version of the OS unless they exit the beta test program.
