Immediate takeoff for a unique cosmic adventure in Onet-le-Château

From October 21 to 25, young and old are invited to discover the mysteries of the Universe: a unique cosmic adventure, meeting the stars, planets and the immensity of space. Immediate takeoff

As part of the city contract, with the State and in partnership with agglomeration, the national center for space studies (Cnes), the Planète sciences association, the MJC of Onet-le-Château, Andromeda 4A and the club diving center of the MJC, the Patio social center of Onet-le-Château organizes numerous activities for everyone, at the Athyrium.

Whether you are curious, a dreamer or passionate about space, this “apprentice astronaut” challenge event is made for you, here is an overview (registration required, on site, at the Athyrium).

Space technologies. This activity will allow young people to discover 3 technologies that bring us closer to space: drones, 3D printing and virtual exploration.

Water or air rockets. Ariane, launched from the space center in Guyana, is well known to young people. But what is it made of? How does it manage to take off and go so high?

Build your Martian robot. What are these strange machines that constantly revolve around our planet? How did they get up there and what are their missions?

Planetarium. Can we still use the North Star that guided our ancestors? How to find the Big Dipper in the sky? To learn more about the stars and constellations, come and discover the inflatable planetarium.

Coloring-exhibition workshops. Many creative workshops for children will be available to illustrate and marvel at the secrets of space.

Space training in swimming pool. Like astronauts training in a swimming pool, this activity allows children to understand the various sensations and constraints of an activity in space. The MJC Rodez diving club accompanies you for this activity at the Paul Géraldini swimming pool! To participate, knowing how to swim independently is recommended. Prior registration required on 05 65 77 25 04.

Micro-rockets. The MJC of Onet-le-Château organizes micro-rocket construction workshops throughout the week. Will you be able to build yours and make it take off from the hill of Saint-Mayme? Registration for the week required with the MJC of Onet-le-Château.

A grand finale. An exceptional closing evening, Thursday October 24 at the Athyrium where from 8 p.m., the documentary film “Thomas Pesquet: the special envoy” will be broadcast, which will be followed by stargazing with telescopes, in partnership with the the Andromeda 4A association.

The complete program is available on the city website: www.onet-le-chateau.fr
