Reports recently surfaced that Asus is planning to introduce an update to the ROG Ally handheld console at Computex 2024. The refreshed handheld will reportedly be called the Asus ROG Ally 2024, and while all the PC fans out there pocket have high hopes for what Asus should do with the next generation Ally, it appears to be a minor refresh.

Today, in a recent post https://twitter.com/ASUS_ROG/status/1787784438421860694/photo/1 on social media platform frame.

While this is far from a verified confirmation from Asus – it could just be a first-gen ROG Ally with a black skin – it could be a tease from Asus the same company that announced a portable Windows gaming PC on April Fool’s Day, as The Verge points out.

In our recent list of things we expect from a refreshed ROG Ally, a black colorway was mentioned. A black colorway was one of the more practical additions, and it would be easy for Asus to implement. A black Asus ROG Ally 2024 would be handy for those worried that the original Ally’s white plastic will get dirty after heavy use.

The original Asus ROG Ally is still available at Best Buy for $699.99, but it could go back on sale if Asus releases the Ally 2024. If you’re looking for something larger, Lenovo’s Legion Go costs the same price directly from Lenovo US and offers some features that the Ally does not.
