Vivo is expected to officially launch its new flagship, the X100 Ultra, in China next week. In the meantime, the firm has revealed a few details, including the impressive 200 megapixel periscopic telephoto lens.

The Chinese smartphone brand Vivo has just announced the imminent arrival of its new flagship X100 Ultra. Its leader, Jia Jingdong, has already revealed a certain number of characteristics via a publication on the Chinese social network Weibo.

The strong point of the mobile will be its camera. The X100 Ultra will feature a 200-megapixel Zeiss periscopic telephoto lens, building on a sensorsensor SamsungSamsung HP9. This would be the apochromatic periscopic telephoto lens (APO) with “ the correction ofchromatic aberrationchromatic aberration the most powerful in the world “. The telephoto lens would not use pixel binning in order to capture all possible details with its 200 megapixel sensor. It would thus produce images with sufficient quality to be printed as an advertising poster. It is also via the social network Weibo that the manufacturer announced the launch date in China of May 13 for its new smartphone. According to a leak, still on Weibo, the device will cost between 928 and 1,117 dollars (861 to 1036 euros) and will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
