One of the best exclusives of the PS4 could soon leave this service, but come back even stronger. The dream could come true…

Already a great year!

After a complicated arrival, the PS5 now welcomes numerous exclusives, including the very recent Stellar Blade. This game certainly stood out for its universe reminiscent of Yoko Taro and NieR Automata. He also faced some controversies, but these did not tarnish his image for long. On top of that, Sony fans were spoiled this year with the arrival of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, or Final Fantasy XVI. You will have understood: this year 2024 is not yet over, but it has already offered a lot of good games. However, Sony could not stop there, and bring back to the forefront one of the best excluded from the PS4.

A hasty departure for a strong comeback

A few days ago, PS Plus extra subscribers learned with sadness that Horizon: Zero Dawn was going to be removed from the service, as of May 21. This game will be accompanied by 25 other PS 5, PS4 and Classic titles. Although software leaving PlayStation Plus is a usual thing, this decision still raises questions. We remind you that the sequel: Forbidden West, had just been added to the catalog. Leaving the two Guerrilla Games titles could have allowed fans to discover (or rediscover) Aloy’s adventures with a view to a third episode, the teasing of which began several months ago. It should be noted that this departure concerns the base game, but also the Horizon: Zero Dawn: Complete Edition version, which includes the Frozen Wilds expansion. This decision is not unanimous among Internet users, but according to them; it would be used as a pretext to announce the arrival of a remake.

Remember that already in 2022, VGC was able to unearth a report mentioninga remaster of Horizon: Zero Dawn. According to information from the media, it was a question of improving the visuals thanks to more advanced lighting and reworking the animations. There was also information on the famous multiplayer title Guerilla. Since then, nothing has filtered out. However, we can assume that the project still exists since neither the studio nor Sony have denied it. As of yet, no official information has been released, but it is a plausible possibility. On the players’ side, a 4K and 60 FPS update would not be refused for a software released almost seven years ago. For its part, Sony has already announced thatno major new games would see the light of day in 2025. This therefore gives it time to develop its catalog differently, by offering remakes or remasters, as they did for The Last of Us, for example.
