It was last August that Xiaomi presented the Pro version of its Smart Band 8, a connected bracelet with a square screen, and not elongated as normal, which brings it much closer to the Apple Watch than to its peers. Premium, Apple-esque design
The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro doesn’t really look like the brand’s other connected bracelets, which generally have an elongated screen, a shape that takes up less space on the wrist and is therefore much more practical during sport. However, the brand has chosen here to opt for a square screen with rounded edges, which is very reminiscent of that of the Apple Watch. If it is to be entitled to a 1.74 inch AMOLED panel, i.e. a diagonal wide enough to correctly read the information displayed, we largely accept this decision by the brand. This screen also has a resolution of 336 x 480 pixels (336 ppi) and its brightness can increase up to 600 nits.
In addition, although the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is a connected bracelet that takes up a little space on the wrist, it remains completely pleasant to wear with its silicone bracelet, its thin dial (9.9 mm) and its weight 22.5 g feather. This bracelet can therefore accompany us during training while being forgotten. Moreover, the bracelet is waterproof up to 50 meters deep, which allows you to use it during your swimming sessions.
Complete sports monitoring
The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro being a connected bracelet designed for activity monitoring, it integrates a host of sensors such as an accelerometer and a gyroscope to measure the number of steps, or even a heart rate monitor (whose precision has been improved by 10 % depending on the brand) and an oximeter. It also offers integrated GNSS tracking, which provides precise monitoring of pace, speed and distance traveled, even without a smartphone on you. The tracker also provides no less than 150 training modes. On the health side, we can count on monitoring of sleep, stress and the menstrual cycle. Note also that the bracelet can send you alerts if unusual levels (heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress, etc.) are detected.
Finally, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro contains an NFC chip which can allow you to pay or even unlock a connected lock easily, according to the manufacturer. And in terms of autonomy, Xiaomi promises no less than 14 days of use.
