Microsoft’s AI assistant gets new features

Microsoft announced on October 1 “Copilot will be there for you, on your side and at your side, always close to your interests”, in particular thanks to the latest developments developed by the tech company. These are intended to strengthen the use of Copilot among the general public. The assistant now has a more intuitive and customizable interface according to your preferences.

Four voices to choose from

Copilot’s voice features have evolved and now offer four voices, allowing everyone to choose the one that suits them best. It is therefore possible to converse in different tones and ask your assistant for help on different subjects: organizing a trip, optimizing your schedule and answering a pending question.

Microsoft specifies that voice recognition and vision “represent the start of a profound transformation in the way we interact with technology” and therefore joins the ranks of Google and Gemini, Meta AI and Apple Intelligence.

Currently offered in English-speaking countries, Microsoft intends to deploy these features to other countries, as well as the interpretation of images, currently accessible in the test phase. The AI is particularly required to be able to interpret the images made available to it and dissect their content.

An experiment under surveillance

Like any giant present in the AI market, Microsoft is forced to place at the center of its concerns the very important question of the protection of our data and what this implies in the use of these technologies. The company guarantees that each of its data will be systematically deleted after use and that none will be collected for other purposes.

Event

Just like its competitors, Microsoft positioned itself very early on the artificial intelligence market and wishes to take Copilot further by expanding its capabilities: Copilot Voice, Copilot Daily, Copilot Discover, Copilot Labs and Copilot Vision are in the deployment of this latest update, just like “Think Deeper” (Deep Thinking), allowing your assistant to solve more complex problems.

In the same way as Llama 3.2 at Meta, all of these features will unfortunately not yet be accessible within the European Union, whose regulations slow down the development of overly intrusive AI.
