Xbox Research asks developers why some don’t develop games for Xbox consoles
Microsoft is asking developers why some don’t create their own games for Xbox consoles and instead prioritize other gaming devices on the market. This important question was shared by the American giant through Xbox Research, a division focused on the player experience. Microsoft has in fact decided to extend this initiative to game creators as well, with the ultimate goal of making its gaming ecosystem even better and more efficient. Below we read what Dr. Deborah Hendersen, Principal User Researcher for Xbox, said:

“We have known for some time that this was a gap. We put a lot of thought into the games, the hardware, the dashboard, and yet most of the systems for gathering feedback on the backend were less formal. I would add that the most common methods are interviews, usability, playtesting, surveys, and theft. This is the same type of study we do during game testing, just on tools and services. By developing our innovation, we aim to give game developers what they need to feel empowered and supported by Xbox. If you make video games, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re not on Xbox, we’d like to know why. And honestly, if you use our competitors’ products, you probably have a great perspective that we could learn from! »
