With its ten filters and ten backgrounds, WhatsApp intends to offer users “more user-friendly” video calls.

Until then, the video calls we made in WhatsApp were simple. We couldn’t add filters or backgrounds. “Starting today, we’re launching filters and backgrounds to add a touch of originality to your video calls. With these new effects, you can now change your background or add a filter during a video call to personalize it”launches WhatsApp in a press release.

A major update will be deployed in the coming days adding ten filters to apply to videos, ranging from distortion to color retouching, as well as ten clipping backgrounds. “You can choose between the following filters: warm, cold, black and white, skylight, dreamlike, light prism, fisheye, vintage TV, frosted glass and two-tone. You can also opt for any of the following backgrounds: blur, living room, office, cafe, pebble, treats, spotted, beach, sunset, celebration and forest.”

With this new feature (which is nothing revolutionary, we grant you), Meta intends to give more importance to video calls and give them relief. It was already possible to “edit” your video calls in Messenger, this will also be available on the number 1 messaging platform in the world.
