September 24 is State of Play!

After days and days of rumors about a possible State of Play for this September, Sony has finally lifted the suspense: The next State of Play will indeed take place on September 24, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.!

This long-awaited gamers’ conference will allow the Japanese giant to regain its popularity with gamers, especially after the failure Concord And the announcement of the PS5 Pro, the price of which clearly did not delight all gamers, especially given a game library where remakes and remasters happily rub shoulders. Moreover, surprisingly, the manufacturer did not wait for this conference to announce the booster version of the PS5.

Perhaps this is a marketing strategy: take advantage of Concord’s fall to announce an overpriced console and still end on a good note with some great announcements during the State of Play, so that players only remember the best of this month of September.

By the way, speaking of announcements and other info, there are more than 20 games, for the PS5 and the PS VR 2, that will be shown to us during the 30-minute event. The program includes productions from PlayStation Studio, but also titles from third-party publishers.

More than 20 games presented!

So what can we expect? Already on the PlayStation Studio side, a few games are already predisposed to it. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach by Kojima Production is of course one of Sony’s flagships with the immense Hideo Kojima at its helm. Perhaps we will have the chance to see some gameplay from this sequel to a game that was already a graphical benchmark at the time of its release, but also new cutscene clips to learn more about the history of this very particular universe of Death Stranding.

Then, maybe we’ll have some news for Marvel’s Wolverine, some gameplay footage of which has recently leaked online. A near-complete demo of the pre-alpha game was visible, with Logan gloriously bathing in the blood of his enemies.

Also, Concord may be entitled to a redemption arc, by presenting us with a new update of the title, in order to make it available again on the stores and not permanently destroy the 8 years of development that the game needed.

As for third-party publishers, we obviously want Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater by Konami, especially after the franchise’s nearly 10-year absence from the gaming scene. After Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (No, Metal Gear Survive is just a myth, I don’t know what you’re talking about…). Gameplay would be welcome, with obviously cinematographic ones having the same level of staging as what Kojima was able to offer us at the time.

Still at Konami, we will also certainly have Silent Hill 2 (2024) which has managed to restore its reputation with its previous trailer showing us its roster of characters, each crazier than the last.

On the Square Enix side, we also want to see something new with an announcement around Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest with the remake of the third opus.

We’ll know more tomorrow, so don’t forget: see you on September 24 at 11:59 p.m. on YouTube and Twitch!
