A group of board game enthusiasts have organized a first gaming event to be held on Saturday, October 5th from noon to midnight. The very first 3Ri Playswhich will also be supervised by the Hobby Center, will take place at the Salle Félix-Leclerc, in the Sainte-Marthe-du-Cap sector, in Trois-Rivières.

On the program: a full day dedicated to free games of all kinds. Not only will the Hobby Center offer a range of game choices to entertain people, but it will also have a sales kiosk on site for the occasion.

“We realized that there were a lot of people from Trois-Rivières who not only played, but who participated in other events outside. Creating an event here will help bring these people together,” adds Sylvain Picard.

A “bazaar” style activity will also take place in the afternoon where it will be possible to exchange or sell games that are no longer used at a low price.

“We’ve been saying for a long time, on our discussion groups, that we would like to create this kind of event. Now, we’ve decided that it’s this year. It’s really going to be a unifying day,” says Nicole Aumais, co-organizer of 3Ri Joue.

“We are the three musketeers, who were four! I am accompanied by Claude Galarneau, Sylvain Picard and Nicolas Bachand. We invite people from everywhere to our event, so if they want to travel, Go! We are really central. We are the fun stopover in the province, between Montreal and Quebec.”

Participants must be 14 years of age or older. The cost of participation is set at $25 and includes a meal box prepared by Fouquet Morel as dinner.

“For this first edition, we will have other participating stakeholders, including creators and distributors of board games,” adds Ms. Aumais. “This will allow people to test some prototypes. We limited the day to people aged 14 to better target the game offering and offer an evening to parents. In the future, we do not exclude the possibility that our event could be open to children, depending on our post-event assessment.”

Other surprises should be revealed a few days before the event. The full program is available on the 3Ri Joue Facebook page.
