A fatal accident occurred this Saturday, November 2, 2024 around 12 p.m. on the axis which connects Bressuire to La Chapelle-Saint-Laurent (D748), near the place called Beaurepaire.
A van with six people on board, four children aged 2, 4, 6 and 8, a man and a woman aged 37 each and a car collided head-on for a reason that the gendarmes' investigation will determine.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old woman from Chanteloup, died in the accident. Two occupants of the utility vehicle were transported to the Nord Deux-Sèvres Hospital Center (CHNDS).
18 firefighters as well as Samu doctors were mobilized to help the victims. The police and the roads department were on site.
