We have already been able to see Mouse several times since his announcement in 2023 and we can say that the charm operates in each of his appearances. The game presented itself again last night and we can say that its style still hits the mark.
Mouse’s vintage style is already very attractive
As a reminder, Mouse is developed by the Fumi Games studio and is presented as an FPS which will make the player evolve in the guise of private detective John Mouston in a dangerous and corrupt city where deception and murder mix.
It is obviously its black and white artistic direction, inspired by the cartoons of the 30s, which catches the eye at first glance and which can quite easily remind us of a certain Cuphead in a more colorful style, but also taking up the codes of these old cartoons.
Previewed as part of the Triple-i Initiative Showcase, the latest gameplay trailer reveals some of the new and improved gameplay mechanics currently in development for Mouse, including:
- The Grapple – Allows you to attach to designated points to move and cross quickly.
- The helicopter – Reduces the speed of descent and facilitates air travel.
- The Spinach powerUp – Used to augment and improve the gameplay of melee attacks.
The revolver, the Tommy Gun, the hammer, the Carcano or even the dynamite, you can face your enemies in the way that seems most appropriate to you. Whether you prefer to run and shoot, jump and dodge, or carefully plan your attacks, Mouse will give you the flexibility to approach combat the way you want.
