Mourning for Jackmaster. The Scottish DJ – whose real name was Jack Revill – has died, his family announced on his Instagram channel. “Jack tragically died on the morning of October 12th in Ibiza from complications arising from an accidental head injury.” He was 38 years old.
After school, Jack Revill started making music. He was one of the most popular DJs in Great Britain and received several awards. He also performed internationally, including at the legendary techno club Berghain in Berlin. He was also a co-founder of the Numbers label.
His family reflect on his career: “Jack’s passion for music and his tireless drive to push creative boundaries through his work at Glasgow label Numbers and Rubadub Records, including the discovery of countless innovative artists, made him a popular and groundbreaking figure in the electronic music community, both in front of and behind the scenes.”
Jack Revill leaves behind his wife and two children. “His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are devastated. The family is deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues and fans and requests privacy as they attempt to process their immense grief over the devastating loss,” he said it further in the statement.
