Three years ago, the world of French cinema tragically lost Gaspard Ulliel after a skiing accident. On Instagram, his friend Xavier Dolan still can't believe it.
A difficult January 19 for all those who knew or admired the French actor who died tragically in 2022. Gaspard Ulliel was 37 years old when he took his last breath following a skiing accident in Savoie. Since then, his loved ones and work colleagues have continued to remember his presence, particularly on the sad anniversaries of his death.
“Today, like every January 19 since your death, like all those to come, is not easy,” writes Xavier Dolan on Instagram. The two artists met on the set of “Just the End of the World” which the Quebecer directed in 2016, with Gaspard Ulliel in the title role. For this interpretation, the Frenchman won the César for best actor the following year.

“I think of you happily »
“As if you were manifesting in the air. So I think of you in a happy way: the cinema conversations, your eloquence, the way you expressed your thoughts,” the director sadly writes in description of a carousel of souvenir photos in the company of his great friend. He remembers their visit to the Cannes Film Festival where Gaspard Ulliel “consoled” him: “ I don't have a single bad memory with you. There isn't a moment that doesn't bring me warmth when it comes back to me. I'm thinking of you. Always. »
A publication reposted by Gaëlle Pietri, ex-partner of the actor and mother of their only boy, Orso (8 years old). If the duo had been separated for two years when the actor was the victim of his accident, she has continued to pay tribute to him since 2022. Gaëlle Pietri notably wrote “Le temps de te dire adieu” (published by Grasset), a text on mourning and love, which she dedicated to her ex-partner and their son.
