Nearly 200 homes impacted and local residents evacuated after a gas leak in Cannes

Gas leak, this Saturday at the beginning of the afternoon, on pipes on Chemin de Caldana, at the foot of the California district, in Cannes.

GrDF agents quickly cut off the gas, before setting up a flare to purge the pipes.

During the intervention, the firefighters, who dispatched five engines and 19 firefighters to the site, established two nozzles for protection, as well as a security perimeter.

As a safety measure, the four occupants of a villa were evacuated.

Nearly 200 subscribers are currently still impacted by the leak.
