RWDM won 2-1 against RFC Liège. Yannick Ferrera’s men resume their march forward.
The RWDM was keen to set the record straight against RFC Liège. During the first leg, the Sang et Or turned the situation around to win in added time at Rocourt. For this revenge, Yannick Ferrera directly lined up Mickaël Biron, Gaëtan Robail starting on the bench, just like Alexis De Sart.
In the opposite camp, Gaëtan Englebert made some strong choices, for example keeping Zakaria Atteri and Mohamed Mouhli alongside him along the sidelines.
In the first half, the RWDM took the game into his own hands, creating several hot situations, without managing to deceive Antoine Lejoly. However, it did not take long at Stade Machtens to see their charges take the lead in the second half, with Pjotr Kestens opening the scoring in the 53rd minute.
Zulte Waregem au forceps
Taking advantage of Kwasi Poku’s injury, Kestens even scored twice to make the break twenty minutes from time. The reduction in Zakaria Atteri’s score in the moneytime was too late to allow Liège to come back.
The RWDM, however, remains nine points behind Zulte Waregem following the victory of Essevee. The Flandriens were however very hot against the Patro, who led 0-2 until the last half hour approached. But Zulte’s final rush (three goals in less than ten minutes) capsized the Elindus Arena at the same time as the Limburg defense.
