Gille Van Binst passed away on January 3 at the age of 73. For the first home match of the year, Anderlecht wanted to pay tribute to one of its legends from the 70s.

A tifo was deployed by the Brussels kop to the applause of the entire stadium and the 22 players, while his former teammates including Jean Thissen and Michel De Groote took to the pitch. A minute of silence was then requested but this was not respected by some of the Bruges supporters, who made themselves known by whistles.
