???? At ten during almost the entire meeting, the leader comes out with forceps and puts pressure on Bruges before the topper – All football

Genk won 2-0 against Leuven. However, the Limburgers had a catastrophic start to the match.

Against the Louvanistes, Genk continued its good series at home by scoring a tenth victory in a row at the Cegeka Arena (a record for the club) and took a four-point lead over Club Brugge before the Blauw en Zwart match at Anderlecht tomorrow.

But the match was not a smooth ride, far from it. After just six minutes, Racing was in trouble with this red card from Matt Smets hotly contested for what the referee deemed a last man foul.

Enough to offer the spectators present a hesitant first half: Genk had to reorganize all its plans by bringing Carlos Cuesta up, while Louvain had not necessarily planned to come out too much.

The situation settled at the start of the second half, with a big gift from the Louvanist defense, who sent two men to cut out the same man in the rectangle. Jarne Steuckers was quick to open the scoring from the penalty spot (48th, 1-0).

Louvain passed very close

Outnumbered for 40 minutes, the Limburgers knew that the hardest part was not yet done. They thought they could breathe when Tolu Arokodare went into a duel against Tobe Leysenbut the goalkeeper trained in Genk emerged victorious. Enough to allow OHL to continue to hope.

The visitors then tried everything, with very clear chances in the last half hour. Several times, the Limburg defense broke, but was always able to count on a save from Mike Penders (preferred over Hendrik Van Crombrugge) or saves on the line to hold on.

Thorsten Fink was finally able to exult when his team made the break at the end of the match, on a new penalty caused by Hyun-gyu Oh after a lightning counter, and converted by the South Korean supersub (2-0). Genk suffered but will look at tomorrow’s topper with peace of mind.
