Mamelodi Sundowns won over AS Maniema Union by 2 goals to 1, Saturday at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa, in a match counting for the 5th day of the group stage (group B) of the Champions League of African football.
The Congolese opened the scoring with striker Japhte Kitambala in the 39th minute of the game. Namibian Peter Shalulile equalized for Mamelodi Sundowns in the second half (82nd), before Exaucia Moanda, who scored against his side (90th +5 ), offers victory to the South Africans.
Thanks to this victory, Mamelodi Sundowns temporarily joins AS FAR at the top of the group B standings with 8 points, ahead of Raja de Casablanca (4 units). AS Maniema Union is last with 3 points.
The other match in Group B will pit AS FAR against Raja de Casablanca this evening (8:00 p.m.) in Meknes.
