During six months of unemployment, the former Devil (2 caps) and ex-Anderlecht player had hired a physical trainer and trained discreetly with a small Liège club. Several clubs have shown interest in him. He was in the sights of Levski Sofia (Bulgaria) who failed to convince him. He could also have flown to China, Greece and, more recently, the United Arab Emirates. Bakkali was also in the sights of several clubs, but only for a test.
