Madness: a club president fires his coach… but also all his players! – All

These are facts that we imagine to be held in Belgian amateur divisions. But it is in European D1 that a president fired all his players!

It was in D1 of Bosnia-Herzegovina that this madness took place. The president of FK Sloboda Tuzla has decided to part ways with his coach, his staff… but also his entire core of players, due to poor results in the championship.

Sloboda Tuzla is currently bottom of the Bosnian D1, 12th out of 12 with only two points taken in 17 games. The season is currently on hold for the winter period, and will not resume until February 15; President Azmir Husic therefore estimated that there was enough time, during the winter transfer window, to reform an entire core.

Husic, who arrived in October, also faces a very complicated financial situation. FK Sloboda Tuzla’s accounts have regularly been blocked due to debts and monetary concerns. The president therefore wants to completely start from a completely blank page.

“I think we can put together a better team than the one that only took two points in the first part of the season, even if we only recruited in the Tuzla region,” Azmir Husic even quips in comments relayed by Bosnian .

A situation that one would probably easily imagine in a Walloon provincial club, but which is unfortunate in a European D1 championship…
