Pro A: can CTT aim for the play-offs?

Pro A dames

Even if they were acquired under favorable circumstances, the two victories obtained last week against the current first two of Pro A ladies ( and Joué-les-) showed that the Quimperoises had it “under the sole” and that They could perhaps aim better than the play-downs reserved for the six lowest ranked teams (from seventh to twelfth place) at the end of the first phase.

Before the Christmas break, Emmanuel Palud’s players share third place with Saint-Denis with a total of 22 points, but the ranking is difficult to read and interpret because not all teams have the same number of matches.

Three matches to stay in the Top 6

The Quimperoises still have three matches to play. Three matches which could allow them to avoid the play-downs and compete in the play-offs if they remain in the Top 6. “We will try to avoid these play-downs, but our next opponents will not be the pie,” warns Cornish coach Emmanuel Palud.

The Finisterians will therefore have to travel to (Thursday January 23), Saint-Pierre-les-Elbeuf (Tuesday February 11) and will receive Saint-Denis (date to be fixed).

So many adversaries a priori out of reach as Poitiers and Joué-les-Tours were before their arrival in Finistère.

A regenerated workforce

Because if the Quimperoises do not present the best squad on paper, this year they demonstrate real complicity and a united state of mind.

The reshuffle of the squad in the off-season with the arrival of Marie Migot and Isa Cok combined with the departure of Hanna Haponova has regenerated the CTT, ready to sign new exploits.

At 22, the young Isa Cok multiplies her performances against higher ranked players, “a repetition which cannot be due to chance”, explains Emmanuel Palud.

She thus has a 66% success rate (6 out of 9), while Marie Migot has a 71% success rate (5 out of 7).
