Galatasaray won 0-1 in Bodrum last night. The only goal of the match was scored by Michy Batshuayi.
Given the injury to Mauro Icardi (who will be on the sidelines until the end of the season), the Galatasaray coach announced that he was considering an attacking duo composed of Victor Osimhen and Michy Batshuayi.
But as in the meeting just before the break, Michy once again started on the bench. Faced with the Gala’s difficulties on the Bodrum pitch, however, he got into the game at half-time.
Batshuayi more skillful than Ziyech
Coaching paid off since Batsman scored the winning goal ten minutes later, on a precise cross from Dries Mertens. He celebrated this fourth goal of the season in the Süper Lig (for a single start) by going to pay tribute to a young supporter who recently died.
The visitors could have made the break shortly after the hour mark after good work from Osimhen to put Hakim Ziyech into orbit, but the Moroccan was guilty of the weekend’s failure in front of goal.
The Gala therefore won 0-1 and posted an almost perfect record of 34 out of 36 at the top of the Turkish championship. Fenerbahce follows five points behind.
