Tyrese Maxey (Sixers) forfeits at least two weeks

The struggle continues for the Sixers. After Joel Embiid and Paul George, it’s Tyrese Maxey’s turn to spend time in the infirmary. He will miss several weeks because of a hamstring injury in his right leg.

The Sixers’ start to the season could hardly have started in a worse way.

While Philadelphia has a record of six defeats in seven games, Paul George has only just returned and Joel Embiid has still not played this season, Tyrese Maxey will therefore be absent for at least two weeks if we are to believe Shams Charania ofESPN.

The young Philadelphia star injured his hamstring Wednesday night against the Clippers. According to the insider, the Sixers will take their time with Maxey to avoid any risk of worsening the injury.

If we do not want to speculate on the reasons which explain this physical problem, we would still like to remember that Maxey had a lot of responsibilities at the start of the season, while George and Embiid were absent. Over his first seven games, the Sixers leader played almost 40 minutes per evening while taking more than 23 shots.

With this injury, we will have to wait a little longer to finally see the Big Three Maxey – George – Embiid at work. PG-13 is back and Embiid – currently suspended by the NBA – is expected to return against the Knicks next Tuesday, for Game 1 of the NBA Cup. As for Maxey, we will probably have to wait until the end of November to see him back on the court. What will the Sixers’ record be by then?
