Fortunately no one was injured. But those present, this Friday, October 18 evening, will remember it for a long time. A section of wall of the Beaublanc swimming pool in Limoges broke away and fell onto the edge of the pool. Present in the water for their training, the divers immediately evacuated the scene.

Three diving clubs were training at the Beaublanc swimming pool in Limoges on the evening of October 18, when an unusual noise was heard. “We heard a pretty impressive noise around 10:30 p.m.. This immediately alerted us, and we saw a whole section of wall fall into pieces below,” says Patrice Duloisy, president of the diving club of the ORTF sports association.
Fortunately, during this 9 to 11 p.m. window that they have for their training, the members were all in the pool at that time. “No one was on the edge, we’re lucky. It could have hurt someone“, estimates Patrice Duloisy. The divers immediately evacuated the pool and informed the guards.
Still according to witnesses on site, the town hall was able to make observations by dispatching an agent around 11:15 p.m., and the building was closed. The debris fallen at the edge of the pool comes from the plates and insulation of a wall section located in a corner of the room, overlooking the outside. Contacted by telephone, the town hall will communicate the first elements in the afternoon of October 19.
We hope that they will carry out the work quickly, we risk being disinherited for one or two months.

Limoges’ venerable swimming pool – it dates from the 1950s – Beaublanc is one of the rare facilities still entirely administered by the City, which makes it a very accessible place for the associative sector.
“While the findings are completed, the swimming pool will be closed for at least a month.” judge Patrice Duloisy, bitter. This is one of the rare basins in Haute-Vienne whose depth exceeds 3 meters. “It’s not just diving that will suffer from this closure, it’s also schools. It’s a tragedy for the associations and for them to no longer be able to benefit from it for a while.”
At the switchboard this Saturday morning, swimmers are informed that the pool will be closed this weekend and next week. They are invited to go to the Saint-Lazare swimming pool during this period. The latter will open its doors from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday, October 19.
