At Anderlecht, David Hubert took over from Brian Riemer on an interim basis. A coach who managed to take a point this weekend in Dender.
As we know, the Anderlecht management is however looking for a new coach and the name of Mark van Bommel often comes up. But it is unclear whether the Dutchman is really the priority of Jesper Freedberg, Woute Vandenhaute and the other board members.
Reservations issued
Reservations are in fact expressed about the one who seems to benefit from a sabbatical year. It is particularly at the level of his salary that things seem to be stuck for van Bommel and for him to sign, he would have to make a significant financial effort.
Furthermore, after achieving the double with Antwerp, the former Dutch international does not want to risk his reputation with a club which is certainly important but which has not won a trophy for seven years.
Nothing to gain
In the Dutch-speaking press, we are convinced that he has nothing to gain by signing for Anderlecht. It is explained that he is very attached to the reputation he has built at Antwerp and that therefore there is little chance of seeing him sign for Sporting in the near future.
Since there is nothing to gain financially either, we estimate that he could engage with the Mauves but in the future, if the club’s situation develops in the right direction and there is the possibility of play a protagonist role. For the moment this is not the case and management should therefore turn to another name.
