The 2025 MotoGP calendar, announced only a few weeks ago, already seems to be faltering. The Grands Prix of Argentina and Hungary would indeed be seriously threatened, jeopardizing the consistency of next season which must imperatively offer a minimum of 20 meetings.
Barely a month after the official announcement of 2025 MotoGP calendarthe first dark clouds are already appearing on the horizon. According to GPOne, the Argentine Grand Prix is in peril and may well be cancelled, with similar concerns over the Hungarian racethus highlighting the flaws in the schedule for the next season.
MotoGP had promised an ambitious calendar of 22 races for 2025but it seems that two events are already threatened. The unstable economic situation in
Argentineexacerbated by recent political upheaval, raises serious questions about the viability of returning to Termas de Río Hondo. THE Argentine Grand Prix had already been canceled in 2024, and despite hopes of its return the following year, the current situation suggests another failure.
The absence of Argentina from the calendar would have significant logistical consequences, notably a gap of a month between the first race of the season, scheduled in Thailand on March 2, and the next in Austin, on March 30. This situation would create a damaging imbalance in the calendar, a problem that the organizers want to avoid at all costs.
20 Grands Prix on the calendar is a question of survival for MotoGP

Argentina is not the only one experiencing difficulties. There
Hungarywhich was due to host MotoGP at Balaton Park, could also be forced to withdraw due to
delays in preparation work. The race, scheduled for mid-Augustrisks being compromised if the necessary authorizations are not obtained in time.
If these two races were to disappear, the 2025 calendar would only count 20 eventsa critical situation for Dornawho must
imperatively respect this quota to maintain its television broadcasting contracts. An additional unforeseen event would seriously harm MotoGP's finances.
This uncertainty over the calendar raises fears of a return to repeated races on the same circuits, as during the pandemic period. Once again, MotoGP finds itself in a delicate position, where every decision will have to be made carefully to preserve the integrity and viability of the competition.
