Formula 1 | Official: Bearman will also compete in qualifying and the race at Interlagos

Following the announcement this morning that Oliver Bearman would replace Kevin Magnussen for Sprint Qualifying, and therefore the Sprint, the Haas team has confirmed that the Danish driver will not return to the wheel for qualifying and the race.

It is therefore Bearman who will drive for Haas F1 all weekend in the VF-24 alongside Nico Hülkenberg. The Briton has already made a strong impression this Friday by reaching SQ3, and he will start tenth for the Sprint.

“Haas F1 Team can confirm that Kevin Magnussen will not participate in the São Paulo Grand Prix and that Oliver Bearman will race for the team until the end of the weekend” the team simply said in a statement, confirming that the Dane is suffering from nausea symptoms.

This will give additional preparation time for the future Haas starter with this third race of the season, but he will on the other hand lose his rookie status. The team will certainly have to request a waiver to allow him to compete in the post-season young driver tests in Abu Dhabi.
