They are THE glamorous couple of the Tour de France: the commentator of the Tour de France, Marion Rousse, and her companion, the double world champion Julian Alaphilippe, have been living their love in broad daylight since 2020. They multiply the photos on the networks and even welcomed a little Nino in June 2021.
And there is one for whom it is undoubtedly a bit complicated: Tony Gallopin was married to the ex-cyclist from 2014 to 2019. Modest, he never mentioned their breakup, until Tuesday 11 July. In the columns of The Teamwhile he indicated that he was going to retire, he returned to his separation.
“I never talked about it openly. I have no regrets when I talk about this. There have been some very good things. Marion (Rousse, from whom he is divorced) was there in good times. From a very young age, we have experienced incredible things, ”confided the man who won his first victory in 2010, in Diekirch, in the Tour de Luxembourg.
“Now, it didn’t end in the best of ways and it’s part of the things in life, which we all live. It is always less obvious when they are exhibited in the public square,” he continues.
“I never communicated on it, voluntarily. The life of a man is one thing, the life of an athlete another. This period was complicated”, he concluded indicating that he had been weakened by this separation and by “two fractures the same year, falls, then the Covid. It was a difficult turning point in my career.
