Luis Enrique revealed the reasons for the absence of Achraf Hakimi and Marquinhos in the PSG match against the Stade de Reims, disputed on Saturday and concluded on a zero score (1-1).
During the press conference after the match, Luis Enrique explained that the absence of the two players was linked to a strategy aimed at managing their physical charge, due to a calendar in charge for the club. The team is preparing in particular for a crucial meeting in the Champions League against the VFB Stuttgart.
“We decided to rest Marquinhos and Hakimi because it seemed to be the best decision. Our schedule is very demanding, and it is essential to manage the energy of our players to achieve our goals ”said the Spanish coach, before adding:
-“All players will be ready to start the match against Stuttgart. We know that the Champions League requires a lot of concentration and efforts, and we are prepared ”.
Hakimi, who occupies a central place in the PSG workforce as vice-captain behind Marquinhos, is considered one of the team’s pillars. This season, he has played 24 games in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and delivering 7 assists.
